farmers to families food drive

On Thursday, July 23, 2020 the Hampstead United Methodist Church (HUMC) gave away 200 free boxes (24 lbs. each) of produce food to needy families in Pender county. This event was part of a US Department of Agriculture program of “Farmers to Families”. Early in the morning of the 23rd, members of the church drove trucks with trailers to Goldsboro NC to pick up the food boxes and bring them to the front yard of the church in Hampstead, NC. by 2PM.  Jim Hock, Burgaw Chief of Police came himself and loaded up 7 boxes for his officers to redistribute.
