Our vision

We honor Jesus Christ as Lord.

We believe in the transforming power of Christ's love and welcome all people to this church family.  We worship God in ways that respect cherished Christian traditions and in ways that excite the imagination of youth.  We use the Bible to understand God's will for this church and for ourselves.  We value each person and the gifts and talents they bring.  We use small teams empowered to grow a Christ-centered church dedicated to worship, fellowship for all ages, and outreach to the community and beyond.

Our Church Partners

Our partnerships with different organizations are united together under one vision: to bring glory to God by making disciples of Jesus Christ. We are invested, involved and connected in these relationships for the long run, learning from one another and ministering to one another. We initiate all partnerships and maintain them by a mutual agreement. Outside our partnerships, we have support relationships that allow us to resource and assist organizations. These relationships are not necessarily relationally driven, formalized or holistic. They simply give us the privilege of blessing others.

Our ministries

Get all the information you need about our Ministries and what you can expect as you join them in service at HUMC.

  • Youth

We are a community of preteens and teenagers who are in the process of becoming better disciples of Christ.  We face struggles with our families, teachers and friends.  We question the world we live in.  We have blessings and joys we want to share, and we have doubts.  Doubt is not the opposite of faith; it is part of the faith journey.  Join us on Sunday evenings during the school year as we tackle the issues that confront us each day.  Come and celebrate our accomplishments of the week.  Together, let us try to find and explore the path on to which God is leading us.  The Gospel of Luke tells us that if we seek, we will find; if we ask, we will receive.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our Director of Children & Youth Ministries for more information at HUMCYouth@hampsteadumc.org.

  • children

We believe that every human being is valuable as a child of God, and we believe that every child deserves a safe and supportive environment in which to grow.  Every member of our staff and any volunteer that works with children or youth have had background checks and safe sanctuary training.   We want to help nurture your child's relationship with God.  We work to create an environment where each child feels welcome, loved by God, encouraged by their teachers and accepted by one another.

  • Pumpkin Patch

The Pumpkin Patch is a youth fundraiser run completely by the youth, adult, and community volunteers.  We buy the pumpkins from the Navajo Indians in order to help with the 42% unemployment rate on the Navajo Reservation.   The youth then tithe to the church and a mission of their choosing.  The last of the funds raised will support local youth missions like The United Methodist Home for Children, ASP, WARM, and Habitat for Humanity.   The funds also enable each youth to be able to go on conference events, mission trips, and special occassions, such as Pilgrimage by accumulating "pumpkin bucks."  It is the largest fundraiser for our youth and is open the entire month of October.  For More info click on the link below.

The Pumpkin Patch is now open from 10am to 7pm Sunday through Thursday and 10am to 8pm on Friday and Saturday.
